ENGINEERING TECHNOLOGY
Bachelor of Applied Science
Engineering
technology is part of the broad discipline of engineering
in which a knowledge of the mathematical and natural sciences
is applied to develop ways to utilize the materials and forces
of nature for the benefit of humankind. Engineering technology
combines scientific and engineering knowledge with technical
skills in support of engineering activities. The engineering
technologist is involved in conceptual areas that require
strong managerial skills as well as a thorough understanding
of production. Career opportunities for engineering technologists
lie in designing and developing hardware from proven concepts,
analyzing and developing products, managing the construction
and operation of production processes, servicing machines
and systems, and providing sales support for technical products
and systems.
