should consider this program?
This
program is designed for PHR, SPHR, and GPHRs and other human
resources staff who are dedicated to staying current with
the rapidly changing HR profession.
As a designated HR professional, am
I required to become recertified?
In order
for HR professionals to retain their PHR, SPHR or GPHR designations,
the HR Certification Institute
(HRCI) requires all certificants to recertify every three
years either by accumulating 60 educational hours through
continuing education, instruction, on-the-job experience,
research and publishing, leadership activities, or membership
in a national or international professional organization such
as the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), or by
retaking the examination (“recertification by examination”).

What
is 'Strategic Management' credit?
The Strategic
Management domain of the PHR/SPHR Body of Knowledge encompasses
those HR responsibilities that fall outside the traditional
human resources function. Continuing education in Strategic
Management is designed to encourage HR professionals to learn
more about relevant topics in business and management in order
to be able to make a greater contribution to organizational
success. Therefore, if the main focus of the continuing education
activity is business-related (i.e. educating the HR professional
in relevant aspects of finance, marketing, information technology,
etc) it
is considered by HRCI to be 'Strategic Management.'
What
are the requirements for enrollment in this program?
There
are no formal requirements for enrollment in this certificate
program. It is helpful if participants are at least PHR designated
or have at least three or more years working in the HR field
in a management position.
Does this certificate meet the requirements
for recertification credits?
The University
of Delaware's Strategic Human Capital Management Certificate
has been approved for 43 (Specified -Strategic) recertification
credit hours toward PHR, SPHR and GPHR recertification through
the Human Resource Certification
Institute.
After
completion of the course, how do I submit my recertification
credits?
When
you successfully complete this program, you will be provided
with the information you need to send to the HR Certification
Institute to apply for your recertification credits. For
