Outstanding
Adult Educator Award
Nominations
due April 18, 2008
Awards
are presented at the Honors Day Ceremony, May 9,
2008
Each
year the Division of Professional and Continuing Studies
acknowledges outstanding instructors. This is the only form
of recognition some of these instructors will receive because
the University Awards for Excellence in Teaching are not
available to adjunct faculty. Please nominate instructors
who meet the following requirements so that the Continuing
Education community can honor them for their excellence
in the classroom.
Who
is an Outstanding Adult Educator? An
outstanding adult educator is one who is dedicated to
teaching and is sensitive to adult students needs.
He or she must be very knowledgeable about the subject
matter and be able to provide a lasting impression upon
students in their academic career. An outstanding instructor
must also be able to represent diversity in gender, ethnicity,
and field of study.
Who
is eligible? Nominations
are limited to on and off-campus Continuing Education
instructors. Recommendations may be submitted by CEND,
matriculated, and certificate program students. It is
not necessary to be taking a class from the instructor
at the present time. Faculty will be selected based on
the strength and number of nominations.
