Gathering and Documenting Requirements: Getting the Right
Requirements
The role
of the business analyst is to bridge the divide between IT
departments and the business organizations they support. There
are a variety of useful tools and techniques to elicit requirements,
but nothing is more important than making the most of the
human contact between these two interdependent groups. This
module focuses on the facilitation of collaborative sessions
and incorporates discussion of conducting interviews, resolving
conflicts, fostering creative problem solving, and documenting
the information gathered.
Analyzing and Satisfying Requirements: Creating and Validating
Solutions that Deliver Results
The ultimate
objective of business analysis for process improvement or
a new IT project is to improve business results. This module
examines three proven approaches to analyzing current conditions,
business needs, and technology enablers. Business process
analysis techniques are used to convert raw requirements data
into the capabilities of the solution. Learn how to

Capstone
Project
As a
final requirement of the certificate, you will apply the concepts
and techniques learned through the completion of a case study
project. Projects will incorporate use of problem solving
techniques and collaborative team work, and will focus on
key factors of system and process analysis, identification
and documentation of business requirements, and developing
and validating business solutions. Guidance in completing
project milestones is incorporated throughout the program.
