Instructor

Steve Klinge
Archmere Academy, Claymont, Delaware

Steve Klinge is the English department chair at Archmere Academy in Claymont, Delaware where he has taught since 1984. Mr. Klinge has been an AP English Literature teacher for over 15 years. He also has taught AP English Language. He is an AP Literature exam reader since 1995 and a College Board faculty consultant since 1999. He has been an AP Summer Institute consultant since 2003.

Course description

This course provides an overview of the basic structure and content of an Advanced Placement Literature and Composition course. Particular attention will be paid to teaching strategies for poetry and fiction, selecting appropriate texts, practice scoring student responses from previous AP examinations, and designing writing assignments and classroom activities. Class members will develop a syllabus for use in an AP English Literature course.
