Problem Solving and Decision Making
This workshop
is aimed at giving you tools to solve difficult business problems,
both technical and nontechnical, and improve the quality of
your decision-making. The problem-solving techniques employed
here can be applied successfully to a variety of situations,
such as product and process improvement, new product development,
and strategic and tactical business problems. Methods to address
both quantitative and qualitative problems are covered, and
development of “buy-in” is given attention. These topics are
covered in the workshop:
- Defining
problem-solving and decision making
- Organizing
problem information in specific terms
- Generating
alternatives and tradeoffs
- Tools
for evaluation of alternatives
- Developing
an action plan
- Understanding
the effect of others on decisions, and decisions on others
