Landing
the right position at the right time isn't about luck….In
these highly competitive times, you need the best information
about how to put the job search process to work for you.

University of Delaware’s Division of Professional and
Continuing Studies is partnering with career and human resource
professionals from our area to present these topics:
There
will be ample opportunity for individuals to get their specific
questions answered during networking breaks between panels.
Light refreshments will be served. This career event is free.
Professional
Presence: Get Comfortable Being Uncomfortable
Emotional aspects of the job search process and how they impact
your success. Ellyn Herbert of Herbiz is a professionally
trained business and career coach and certified by the International
Association of Coaches. She helps her clients achieve professional
success by helping them remove or transform the obstacles
that stand in their way.
Informational
Interviewing
An informational interview involves talking with people who
are currently working in the field to gain a better understanding
of an occupation or industry -- and to build a network of
contacts in that field. Informational interviewing helps you
compare what you envision a job to be with someone actually
doing that job; discover the real skills you need in order
to be successful at a particular job; and practice your interviewing
skills in a 'search for information' situation vs. 'I need
this job so please hire me.' Peggy Smith of Smith and
Associates is committed to helping people communicate clearly,
effectively and gain the results they are looking for. "We
embrace what Lee Iacocca said, 'You can have brilliant ideas,
but if you can’t get them across, your ideas won't get
you anywhere.'”
