Business Communications Certificate

Program description

This certificate program takes an integrated, practical approach to improving the fundamental skills that will help you communicate in a more professional manner. The program stresses basic writing skills, including grammar, punctuation, and editing in multiple media, including e-mail. The oral communication skills that are covered include one-to-one conversations, as well as making presentations to a group. The sessions are highly interactive and include individual and group exercises, group discussions, presentations, and role playing.

Who should participate

You will benefit from participating if you are a

  • Professional, administrative assistant, manager, or supervisor who wishes to enhance your writing and communication skills
  • Someone who writes, prepares, or proofreads e-mails, letters, memos, reports, proposals, or presentations
  • Someone who wants to be more effective in presenting ideas and proposals to others, in any medium

Requirements for enrollment

There are no formal requirements for acceptance into the certificate program. Classes are limited to no more than 16 participants with registrations accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.

Time to complete

The Business Communications Certificate can be completed in three months.
