CRIMINAL JUSTICE
Bachelor of Arts
The criminal
justice program offers opportunities that may lead to law
school, graduate school, or justice administration. The degree
is structured around a core of topics that include law enforcement,
the judicial process, juvenile justice, corrections, and criminal
law. The curriculum includes requirements in political science,
psychology, history, and sociology. Most criminal justice
graduates who continue their education study law or public
administration, but an increasing number receive graduate
degrees in political science, computer science, statistics,
sociology, or psychology. Employment opportunities exist in
correctional counseling, court administration, law enforcement,
and private security. Those graduates with technical training
may pursue justice-related careers as researchers, planners,
and data analysts.
