Certificate in Financial Planning transitions to academic credit program in UD's Alfred Lerner College of Business and Economics

More than 200 participants have completed the University of Delaware's Certificate in Financial Planning since 2006, graduating as twelve cohorts of financial planning professionals.

Currently, the program is migrating to UD's Alfred Lerner College of Business and Economics and transitioning into a program for academic credit.

We are proud of our certificate program graduates, and grateful for the commitment and dedication of the faculty and participants who have contribututed to the program's success.

CFP certification—the 'gold' standard in the financial services field

CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certification is the most recognized professional certification for financial planners, demonstrating expertise in the field and adherence to rigorous standards. In addition to passing the exam and completing the education requirement, other requirements for certification include working experience, and a bachelor’s degree (in any field) from an accredited college or university.

The University of Delaware's Certificate in Financial Planning is registered with Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards Inc. (CFP Board) as an approved education program. Successful completion of the University of Delaware's Certificate in Financial Planning satisfies CFP Board's education requirement, allowing an individual to sit for the CFP® Certification Examination.
