Certificate in Financial Planning home

The Certificate in Financial Planning is a joint program of the University of Delaware's Division of Professional and Continuing Studies and Alfred Lerner College of Business and Economics.


Certificate in Financial Planning

Faculty

Each topic in the certificate program is taught by faculty who are certified professionals in the applicable field.

James Bartow, CFP®

James Bartow is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ practitioner with a B.A. in business administration and fifteen years' successful experience working as financial advisor to individuals and small business. Currently managing partner and co-owner of Financial Options Incorporated, and life/health/accident insurance licensed in several states.

Lisa Broadbent-DiOssi, LUTCF

For 18 years, Lisa Broadbent-DiOssi has been the owner of Lisa Broadbent Insurance, Inc, a Nationwide Insurance Agency. She is a Life Underwriter Training Council Fellow (LUTCF) with a B.A. in business administration.

Daniel Danese, CFP®, CLU

Daniel C. Danese is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ practitioner with over 22 years' experience in the financial services industry, and the program director of the University of Delaware's Certificate in Financial Planning. Currently he is president of Legacy Solutions, Inc. which specializes in wealth management, estate planning, retirement planning and executive benefits. Previously he was senior vice president of distribution for a national company with supervision over 7,000 planners.

Christopher F. “Kit” Daniels, ChFC, AEP

Mr. Daniels is the co-managing partner and director of Daniels + Tansey, LLP, as well as co-founder of the firm and Chief Compliance Officer. He holds the professional designations Chartered Financial Consultant and Accredited Estate Planner. He is a member of the Estate Planning Council of Delaware, Wilmington Tax Group, and the Financial Planning Association. He also serves on the Professional Advisory Committee of the Delaware Community Foundation. Mr. Daniels has worked in the financial services industry for 35 years.

DeVon Daniels is a Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) and Accredited Estate Planner (AEP) with over 30 years' experience in the financial services industry. Currently a partner and advisory representative with Daniels, Biddle & Tansy, LLP, as well as a Certified Divorce Planner (CDP), Certified Divorce Financial Analyst (CDFA).

W. Chad Fenstermacher, CPA

With over 16 years in the financial services industry and a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Chad Fenstermacher holds a B.S. in accounting and Master of Taxation degree. He is currently a partner at Fenstermacher & Company.

Kevin Holleran, Esquire

Dr. Holleran holds a JD from Villanova University School of Law and has
24 years of experience with Gawthrop Greenwood, Attorneys at Law, West Chester, PA, where he is a partner. In addition, Holleran has been a lecturer on estate planning and administration for the Pennsylvania Bar Institute since 1991.

Ray Ianni, CFP®, ChFC

Ray Ianni is a Certified Financial Planner™ practitioner and a Chartered Financial Consultant, with over 23 years experience working as an insurance and investment advisor. He holds a dual B.S. in Management Information Science and Finance. Currently he is the Regional Managing Director of Principal Financial Group Delaware Valley Business Center with offices in Wilmington, DE, Conshohocken, PA, Marlton, NJ, Pittsburgh PA and Bethesda MD (d/b/a Financial Advisors of Delaware Valley). Professional memberships include FPA, SFSP, NAIFA and Board Member – SFSP Delaware Chapter, and GAMA.

Andrew Fields, Ph.D.

Andrew Fields represents the University of Delaware's Lerner College of Business and Economics as faculty administrator of the Certificate in Financial Planning. Dr. Fields holds an MBA, Master of Accountancy, and Ph.D. in business administration, and has taught business and finance at the university level since 1978. A past chair of the Department of Finance, Dr. Fields is currently Associate Professor of Finance.

Jonathan Kolle, Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), holds an MBA and over 17 years' experience in the financial services industry. Currently with Smithbridge Asset Management as vice president and portfolio manager.

Craig E. Lytle, CFP®

Craig E. Lytle is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ practitioner with over twelve years of experience in the financial services industry. Mr. Lytle holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in speech communications from York College of Pennsylvania. He is also an MBA candidate at Wilmington University. He is a board member of New Castle County, DE NAIFA and of the Delaware Chapter of Society of Financial Services Professionals. He is president of Income & Estate Planning Partners, P.A. which specializes in working with independent professionals to further develop the insurance components of the financial planning process within their practice.

John H. Sterling, CPA/PFS, CFP®

John H. Sterling is director of tax services at Master, Sidlow & Associates, P.A. He provides tax planning, consulting, and compliance services to business clients in the construction, real estate, and manufacturing industries and to individuals. He is current chair of the Delaware Society of CPAs and past chair of the Wilmington Tax Group. He is a member of the tax committees of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Delaware State Chamber of Commerce and of the Legislative/Legal Rights committee of Associated Builders and Contractors. He has given discussions on tax matters to organizations such as Delaware Conference for Accountants, Construction Financial Management Association, Wilmington Tax Group and Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors as well as written articles for publications including the Wilmington News Journal and New Castle County Ledger.

L. Peter Temple, JD

Peter Temple has been practicing law in Pennsylvania since 1973 and is currently is managing partner of Larmore, Scarlett, Myers & Temple where he is in charge of the estate administration and estate planning departments. Has lectured on the topic of estate planning and estate administration before the Pennsylvania Bar Association, the Chester County Bar Association, the Chester County Bench-Bar Conference, civic groups, Kennett Area Senior Center, and other institutions. He has been noted in the Who's Who of American Law and the Who's Who of Executives and Professionals.
