Online courses may include videostreamed class lectures, podcasts, video clips, audio components, guided readings, chat rooms, interactive Web activities, scheduled virtual class meetings, and threaded discussions. Instructors are available to assist students via e-mail, by phone, or in person at the University of Delaware in Newark.
The online courses will be enhanced with extra question-and-answer sessions with the faculty, and study skills exercises appropriate for high school students.
Online learning requires self-motivation and independent hard work. Students find they must be organized and self-disciplined. While your schedule for viewing lectures or accessing resources may be flexible, each course has specific assignment and exam deadlines.
UD Online courses have the same requirements as their on-campus counterparts, and there is no distinction on a University of Delaware college transcript between courses taken on campus or through UD Online. The University of Delaware has been offering distance learning courses since 1988 and is a national leader in the use of educational technology. Numerous awards recognize the University's electronic campus and its achievements in technology and distance learning.
