“I knew that reaching my goal was going to set a standard for my children to follow.”

“I was working on a college degree at McGill University before I married and had children. Time passed, and it became something I didn’t want to leave unfinished.”

“I started taking classes again in 2001, one class at a time. I was not in a rush, and I was just using my time on the side. It took me eight years to complete my psychology degree at the University of Delaware. Most of my previous credits transferred, so that was really helpful.”

“It seemed at times like it was taking forever. I had a Women’s Studies professor who said to me, ‘But the time is going to pass anyway, whether or not you’re taking the classes.’ In the back of my mind, I knew that reaching my goal was going to set a standard for my children to follow.”

“We home-school our children, and my husband often works from home, so I was lucky to be able to attend class and study whenever I could find the time. It’s challenging, but I love being a student, a mommy, and a wife.”

Roni Sneiderman completed her bachelor’s degree in psychology, and subsequently the University of Delaware’s accelerated nursing program.
