Academic Program
Fall
- Students begin the application process.
- Students request teacher letters of recommendation.
- Schools collect applications and supporting materials.
- Schools review submissions and identify academic finalists.
- Registration information is distributed to selected students.
Spring
- Academic finalists complete program registration.
- Schools submit required program documentation.
- Students and families receive program updates and welcome information.
- Participants prepare for the summer program.
- Governor’s School for Excellence takes place in July.
Visual and Performing Arts Program
Fall
- Students prepare application materials through their school.
- Schools nominate students for visual and performing arts disciplines.
- Registration information is distributed to nominees.
Spring
- Students complete audition registration and other required submissions.
- Audition information is shared with students and families.
- Performing arts auditions are conducted.
- Visual arts portfolios and related materials are submitted for review.
- Admission decisions are communicated to students.
- Participants receive program information and preparatory materials.
