How to Enroll in Montessori Teacher Training

Teachers currently employed with a UD-partnered Montessori School

The University of Delaware Montessori Teacher Residency (UDMTR) program partners with Montessori schools who wish to recruit and train new teachers by providing intensive coaching and instruction over the course of a two-year teacher residency program. The resident teachers are employed by the partner school and are concurrently enrolled in the UDMTR program.

Teachers and Assistant Teachers currently employed in a school that partners with UDMTR should speak with their school leader who will most likely be forming a cohort of teachers for Montessori training. UDMTR will work with your school leader on the Memorandum of Understanding between the school and the program to ensure that cohorts of teachers are supported by both the school and UDMTR for the duration of the program.

Teachers employed with other Montessori Schools

If you are not currently employed in a school that partners with UDMTR, please contact Linda Zankowsky, the UDMTR Director, who will provide information and support to assist in a discussion about the benefits of the UDMTR with your school leader.

Future Montessori teachers not currently employed in a Montessori School

Future teachers who are not currently employed in a UDMTR-partner school will need to have employment or an internship in a school that is willing to support them with the academic year components of the UDMTR.  Teachers who are not yet employed will find support from the UDMTR program with connections to schools for possible employment.

Some funding opportunities may be available.
